Working alongside authors, her goal is to deliver a stand-out product that reflects their personal brand and mission.
Raven Petty is a native of Nashville, Tennessee. She graduated from Tennessee State University with a bachelor’s in English, which included course work in linguistics, grammar, film, and literature. During college, her goal was to become an editor at a book publishing company.
One month after graduation, Raven began her proofreading career at a digital publication and print magazine company in Franklin, Tennessee. During this time, she worked her way up to project manager where she led a team of 40 contract writers and edited assignments for more than 60 publications a year. She also began a freelance career editing and proofreading thrillers, comic books, cookbooks, website copy, film screenplays, and lifestyle articles. Raven also became well versed in search engine optimization, hard copy design and layout, and organization for content management systems.
After several years, she accepted a director of content marketing position at a vacation rental management company. In her role, she generated millions of dollars in revenue by writing travel blogs, informative articles, landing pages, press releases, social media posts, and e-newsletters. Raven was also responsible for overseeing the content and social media strategy for more than 100 entrepreneurs under the brand and promoting their services.
During Covid, she was called to become a certified life coach and began working with women on stress management and personal development. Coaching was a natural progression since Raven has been in a leadership position for more than 25 years. She continues to work as a life coach and helps upcoming authors start, commit, and finish their projects by overcoming imposter syndrome and procrastination.
In her spare time, Raven enjoys reading, rocking out at concerts, painting, yoga, hiking, kayaking, and watching movies. You may even see her volunteering at the Nashville Zoo, Nashville Comic Con, and Nashville Horror Con.
