Official Rules and Privacy Policy
Raven + Grace Press “Write Your Book in 60 Days” Contest
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO VIEW THIS WEBSITE. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.
By entering this Contest, each entrant agrees to these Official Rules and to the decisions of Sponsor, which are final and binding in all matters related to this Contest. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth below.
1. Sponsor
This Contest is sponsored by Raven + Grace Press (“Sponsor”), located at:

2. Contest Description
The Raven + Grace Press “Write Your Book in 60 Days” Contest (“Contest”) is a skill-based writing and publishing contest designed to support aspiring authors in developing a book manuscript.
This Contest is not a sweepstakes, lottery, or random drawing. The winner will be selected based on the judging criteria described in these Official Rules.
3. Eligibility
The Contest is open only to:
- legal residents of the United States and the District of Columbia;
- who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry; and
- who submit a complete eligible entry during the Contest Period.
The following are not eligible to enter or win:
- employees, contractors, officers, directors, agents, and representatives of Sponsor;
- immediate family members of such persons;
- household members of such persons;
- anyone directly involved in the administration, judging, or promotion of the Contest.
Sponsor reserves the right to verify eligibility and to disqualify any entrant who does not meet these requirements.
4. Contest Period
The Contest begins on MONDAY MAY 18TH and ends on JULY 30TH
All entries must be received by Sponsor by JULY 20TH
Important: All dates on the Contest landing page, application form, emails, and these Official Rules must match exactly.
5. How to Enter
To enter, eligible entrants must, during the Contest Period:
- complete the official Contest application form;
- submit all requested materials, including any required writing samples, manuscript snapshot, book concept, synopsis, or other requested information;
- pay the stated Contest program entry fee of $97, if applicable; and
- comply with all instructions, deadlines, and submission requirements listed on the Contest page and application.
Limit one (1) entry per person unless Sponsor expressly states otherwise in writing.
Entries that are incomplete, late, corrupted, fraudulent, generated by bots, or otherwise noncompliant may be disqualified in Sponsor’s sole discretion.
6. Entry Fee Disclosure
The Contest includes a $97 entry fee for participation in the Contest program.
By entering, each entrant acknowledges and agrees that:
- payment of the entry fee does not improve the chances of winning;
- payment of the entry fee does not guarantee selection as a finalist or winner;
- the entry fee is consideration for participation in the Contest experience, review process, and related programming, if any, and not for a random chance to win a prize; and
- the winner will be selected based on the judging criteria in these Official Rules, not by random drawing.
All entry fees are non-refundable, except where required by law.
7. Entry Requirements
Each entry must:
- be the original work of the entrant;
- not infringe or violate the rights of any third party, including copyright, trademark, privacy, or publicity rights;
- not have been created primarily by a third party ghostwriter unless such assistance is fully disclosed and permitted by Sponsor;
- not contain unlawful, defamatory, obscene, harassing, threatening, discriminatory, or otherwise inappropriate material;
- comply with any word count, formatting, genre, or submission requirements posted by Sponsor.
If an entry includes material based on a true story, real people, or third-party intellectual property, entrant is solely responsible for obtaining any required rights, permissions, and releases.
8. Judging Criteria
Eligible entries will be reviewed by Sponsor and/or a judging panel selected by Sponsor.
Entries will be judged using the following criteria:
- Originality and uniqueness of concept – 25%
- Clarity of message and target audience – 20%
- Quality of writing and voice – 20%
- Marketability / platform potential – 15%
- Strength of book concept and overall structure – 10%
- Alignment with Raven + Grace Press publishing vision – 10%
Total possible score: 100 points
Sponsor may, but is not required to, select finalists before choosing a winner.
In the event of a tie, Sponsor may use the highest score in Originality and uniqueness of concept as the tie-breaker, followed by Quality of writing and voice, and then Sponsor’s editorial discretion.
9. Community Voting
If Sponsor includes a public or community voting phase, such voting will be considered advisory only unless expressly stated otherwise.
Sponsor reserves the right to:
- verify votes;
- remove fraudulent, automated, manipulated, or duplicate votes;
- disqualify entries benefiting from vote tampering; and
- make the final decision regarding finalists and winner.
Sponsor’s decisions are final.
10. Winner Selection and Notification
Five finalists will be selected by July 29 and announced live during the Grand Prize Reveal on Thursday, July 30 at 8:00 PM EST. During the online event, each finalist will present their book title, tagline, summary, and a three-minute excerpt from their manuscript. Following the finalist presentations, the community will vote (1 vote each) live to determine the grand-prize winner.
11. Prize
One (1) winner will receive:
One (1) Raven + Grace Press Hybrid Publishing Deal, with an approximate retail value of $12,500 (“Prize”).
The Prize is subject to Sponsor’s standard publishing agreement and may include only those publishing services expressly listed by Sponsor at the time the Prize is awarded.
Unless expressly stated in writing, the Prize does not include:
- cash payment;
- travel or lodging;
- custom add-on services;
- ghostwriting;
- guaranteed bestseller status;
- guaranteed media placement;
- guaranteed bookstore placement;
- guaranteed sales volume;
- guaranteed film, television, or subsidiary rights deals;
- author-purchased print copies;
- expedited timelines beyond Sponsor’s normal process; or
- services outside Sponsor’s standard publishing package.
The Prize is:
- non-transferable;
- non-exchangeable;
- not redeemable for cash;
- subject to availability and Sponsor’s standard onboarding, editorial, and production requirements.
Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if the advertised prize becomes unavailable for any reason.
12. Taxes
The winner is solely responsible for any federal, state, and local taxes, duties, or reporting obligations associated with the Prize.
If legally required, Sponsor may issue an IRS Form 1099 or similar tax reporting form for the value of the Prize.
13. Publishing Agreement Required
Acceptance of the Prize is conditioned upon the winner entering into Sponsor’s then-current publishing agreement and complying with the editorial, production, timeline, and business requirements of that agreement.
If the winner refuses to sign the required agreement or fails to comply with Sponsor’s reasonable requirements, Sponsor may declare the winner ineligible and select an alternate winner.
14. Intellectual Property; License to Sponsor
Entrants retain ownership of their original submitted work.
However, by entering, each entrant grants Sponsor a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to:
- review, evaluate, and judge the submission;
- use entrant’s name, book title, synopsis, excerpt, image, likeness, testimonial, and biographical information for Contest administration and promotional purposes;
- identify entrant as a participant, finalist, or winner on Sponsor’s website, social media, email marketing, press materials, and related promotional channels.
This license is limited to Contest-related and promotional uses unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Entrants represent and warrant that they have all rights necessary to submit the entry and grant this license.
15. Publicity Release
Except where prohibited by law, participation in the Contest constitutes entrant’s consent for Sponsor to use entrant’s name, likeness, city/state, book title, biographical information, statements, testimonials, and entry-related materials for promotional, advertising, and publicity purposes in any media now known or later developed, without additional notice, permission, or compensation.
16. Disqualification
Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who:
- violates these Official Rules;
- submits false or misleading information;
- tampers with the entry, voting, or judging process;
- acts in a disruptive, abusive, fraudulent, or unsportsmanlike manner;
- attempts to undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest.
Any attempt to deliberately damage the Contest or interfere with its lawful operation may violate civil or criminal law, and Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages and other remedies to the fullest extent permitted by law. This kind of anti-tampering language is standard in contest rules.
17. Release and Limitation of Liability
By participating, each entrant agrees to release and hold harmless Sponsor and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, successors, and assigns from and against any claim, liability, loss, damage, cost, or expense arising out of or relating to:
- participation in the Contest;
- submission or use of any entry;
- acceptance, use, or misuse of the Prize; or
- any technical, administrative, or human error in the administration of the Contest.
Sponsor is not responsible for:
- lost, late, incomplete, misdirected, corrupted, or illegible entries;
- technical failures of any kind;
- website, platform, or payment processing errors;
- unauthorized human intervention;
- email delivery failures;
- or any other error or issue that may affect Contest administration.
18. Right to Modify, Suspend, or Cancel
Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, suspend, modify, or terminate the Contest if fraud, technical failure, legal issues, force majeure, or any other factor impairs the integrity or proper functioning of the Contest.
If the Contest is terminated early, Sponsor may, in its discretion, determine the winner from among all eligible, non-suspect entries received before termination.
19. Privacy
Information collected from entrants is subject to Sponsor’s Privacy Policy.
By entering, entrants agree that Sponsor may collect, use, and process their personal information for Contest administration, communications, promotional activity, and related business purposes consistent with Sponsor’s Privacy Policy.
20. Governing Law; Disputes
This Contest and these Official Rules shall be governed by the laws of the State of Florida without regard to conflict of laws principles.
Except where prohibited, entrant agrees that:
- any disputes arising out of or connected with this Contest shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action;
- any claims shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred in entering the Contest, if any; and
- under no circumstances shall entrant be entitled to recover attorneys’ fees, punitive damages, indirect damages, incidental damages, or consequential damages, except where prohibited by law.
Venue for any dispute shall lie exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Broward County, Florida
21. Winner List

Requests must be received within 60 days after the winner is confirmed.
22. Sponsor’s Decisions
Sponsor’s decisions regarding eligibility, judging, finalist selection, winner selection, interpretation of these Official Rules, and all other matters related to the Contest are final and binding.
